Die Kikonen (altgriechisch ΞšΞ―ΞΊΞΏΞ½Ξ΅Ο‚ KΓ­kones) waren ein mythisches Volk der Antike in Thrakien. Sie sollen an der KΓΌste in dem Bereich gewohnt haben, in dem spΓ€ter die StΓ€mme der Bistonen und Saier siedelten.

Die Kikonen werden bei Homer als VerbΓΌndete der Trojaner im Trojanischen Krieg gegen die Griechen erwΓ€hnt.cite-ref-1[1] Ihr AnfΓΌhrer war Euphemos. Odysseus soll sie unmittelbar nach dem Fall Trojas und vor seinen Irrfahrten aufgesucht und die kikonische Hauptstadt Ismaros (wohl das spΓ€tere Maroneia) geplΓΌndert haben.cite-ref-2[2]

β€žKikonenβ€œ wurde bei Dichtern der Antike als Synonym fΓΌr β€žThrakerβ€œ verwendet.
